No, Uganda Peoples Defence Forces has not yet released the shortlist of persons who applied for its 2023 recruitment exercise. However, once they release the shortlist, we will alert you. How to Check UPDF Shortlisted Candidates 2023/2024
Generally, the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces contacts shortlisted candidates through the email used during application, SMS, or print media, but in the absence of these, take the steps below to validate if your name has been shortlisted.
- The first step is opening the UPDF portal www.defence.go.ug
- Select UPDF from the menu items
- Select the category you applied for, be it Air Force, Navy, or Army
- Scroll down the page and click on “Names of successful applicants”
- Open the downloaded PDF from your device
- Then, carefully search for your name or application number.
How to Prepare for UPDF Screening

- Print out your application acknowledgment page
- Check your email to also print the screening invitation
- Put together the originals of all your academic credentials
- Make extra copies (photocopies) at least two each
- Get ready other supporting documents like a guarantor’s form, national ID card etc.
