Job Title: Support Worker – St. Catharines, ON – $24.33/Hour

Job Title: Support Worker

Location: St. Catharines, ON

Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight

Wage: $24.33/Hour

Reporting to the Registered Staff, the Personal Support Worker provides direct personal and nursing care to residents to fulfil their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs in compliance with internal policies, procedure, and work routines.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Assist in providing direct care for residents; assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.
  • Assist residents to and from activities and encourage their participation in these activities.
  • Assist with meal service and nourishment delivery and provide feeding assistance as required.
  • Provide emotional and social support to residents and their families, including palliative care.
  • Comply with all departmental policies and procedures regarding documentation, quality assurance, fire, health and safety, environment, and IPAC.
  • Consult with and inform Supervisor on duty of all unit activities, needs, and matters related to resident care.
  • Participate in care conferences and documentation related to resident care plans.
  • Make positive contributions to the home environment that ensure the values of Primacare™ Living Solutions are maintained.

Job Requirements:

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate.
  • A Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Screening check to the satisfaction of Primacare™ Living Solutions.
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in LTC preferred.
  • Proof of full immunization against COVID-19, in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care’s Long-term care home COVID-19 immunization policy.
