The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), located in Kaduna State, is a federal military institution in Nigeria. It is one of the three Nigerian service academies.

The primary objective of the academy is to train officers for the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force, and it also serves as a center for research and development for the Nigerian Armed Forces.

List of NDA 75RC Shortlisted Candidates 2023/2024

The Nigerian Defence Academy regularly releases the list of candidates shortlisted for the Regular Course (RC) program after the entrance examination held nationwide.

This list comprises the names of 75RC shortlisted candidates who will proceed to the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB).

After the board assessment, the list of successful NDA 75RC candidates will be updated. Candidates must cross-check the list to confirm their names and gather other relevant information.

Candidates who scored 180 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and successfully passed the NDA 75 Regular Course entrance examination are included in this list.

Necessary Documents for Successful Candidates

Successful candidates must report on the specified dates for Batches 1 and 2 to attend the interview. They are required to bring the following documents:

  • Bank Verification Number (BVN) Certificate and Bank account number
  • JAMB UTME Result Slip 2023
  • Academic Certificates/Statements of Result and Testimonials for Primary and Secondary Schools
  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, preferably Birth Certificate
  • Letter of Consent from Parent/Guardian
  • Writing materials
  • Three blue shorts and 3 white (round-neck) T-shirts
  • A pair of white canvas shoes and 3 pairs of white socks
  • Toiletries
  • Non-refundable fee of N2,500.00 each for verification/confirmation of results at WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/NBAIS and JAMB
  • Scratch cards for WAEC and/or NECO results for online confirmation of result
  • Four recent coloured passport photographs
  • Second copy of Postcard Photograph presented and endorsed at the Exam Centre during the NDA Screening Test

Candidates must also download and complete the Attestation and Letter of Consent Forms from the NDA application portal.

Failure to bring the listed documents may result in disqualification, and any alterations on the documents will also lead to disqualification.

Additionally, candidates must bring the original and 2 photocopies of the above-listed documents, along with a Letter of Attestation of State/Local Government Indigeneship. Certification obtained from a military officer from the candidate’s state of origin may be used in place of the Local Government Indigeneship Certificate.

Nature and Duration of Cadets Training

All candidates whose names are included in the NDA 75RC shortlist will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets. Nigerian Army cadets will undergo training for a period of 5 years, while Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force cadets will train for 4 years. Navy and Air Force cadets will spend one year at their respective bases for specialized training. Upon successful completion of the cadet training, graduates will earn an honours degree in a core discipline and a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
