Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker – Full Time
Location: Yard By Yard Lawn Care & Tree Services Kelowna, BC
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $23–$26 an hour – Permanent, Full-time
We are accepting applications from individuals for the position of Mental Health Support Worker for a community mental health group home. The successful candidate will have an interest in working in the human services field, have a current first aid and food-safe certificate (or be able to obtain the certificates within 30 days), have an unrestricted drivers license with a clear driver abstract and complete a criminal record check. You are required to have Covid vaccinations as per the Province of BC mandates. Previous experience working with individuals who have a psychiatric diagnosis is preferred, but not required. Duties will include basic household management, providing companionship to residents, and modeling/participating in daily activities. Benefits and paid vacation time are available after six months of full-time employment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide life-skills modeling in accordance with individualized goals
- Assist with documenting progress towards individualized goals
- Organize and participate in resident activities
- Cue/remind residents re: medications
- Assist residents with accessing community resources
- Must possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
This is a regular full time position. Regular days of work will be Monday to Friday, but the occasional week-end may be required. Regular hours of work will be 8:00 to 4:00, but there will be some shifts that will require hours of work to be 7:30 to 3:30.
