Halton District School Board – Specialized Behaviour Support Worker Position

The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is currently seeking a Specialized Behaviour Support Worker to join our special education team. The successful candidate will work in one of three geographical areas and provide support to school staff on the behavioural, social, and emotional needs of students. Key responsibilities include working directly with students utilizing intervention strategies, providing person-directed supports and services, and informing decisions around appropriate interventions to be implemented.

Applicants must have a two to three-year college diploma and/or undergraduate degree in a related field, and at least 5 years of experience working with at-risk children, adolescents, teens, or individuals with developmental disabilities. It’s also important to have a commitment to anti-oppression and anti-racism, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to problem solve effectively.
