Tony Blair Institute for Global Change is excited to announce the launch of the Summer Associate Internship Programme in Anglophone West Africa. The programme will run for ten weeks in countries such as The Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone, starting in June 2024. We are seeking exceptional candidates who are passionate about politics and eager to make a difference by working closely with governments.

As an intern, you will gain valuable experience by collaborating with colleagues from various countries and working on innovative projects within our expanding portfolio. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to impactful change and receive mentorship from seasoned professionals at TBI.

Throughout the Internship Programme, you will be involved in supporting projects that assist political leaders at all levels to enact change. Whether you are at TBI for a short period or a substantial part of your career, the experience gained here will equip you to have a significant global impact. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop research, analysis, written insights, and other deliverables for clients and country leadership
  • Support projects or development opportunities as TBI advises political leaders on strategy, policy, and delivery using technology as an enabler
  • Support the delivery of high levels of project impact, facilitating nimble performance tracking and coordination as needed
  • Apply and learn from new and innovative approaches to supporting change and delivering impact
  • Assist in developing strategies, frameworks, and approaches
  • Support project teams in the development of reports, presentations, and other relevant documents

Job Qualifications

  • A passion for politics and strong political acumen

  • A deep interest in generating original insights and performing in-depth analysis
  • Experience as an entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Proven ability to conduct high-quality desk-based research
  • Comfortable performing challenging analysis and structured problem-solving
  • Proactive and hands-on attitude, willing to take ownership of work and roll up sleeves to get the job done
  • Legally resident in Ghana with the right to work, willing to bear accommodation or boarding costs
