Project 774 LG Connectivity Launched by Federal Government
The Federal Government launches Project 774 LG Connectivity as part of its plans to encourage equitable growth and increase access to digital public infrastructure in government.
According to HM Dr Bosun Tijani, the project which will leverage the existing infrastructure of the @NigComSat1R and @Galaxybackbone, will provide connectivity to all 774 Local Government Secretariat across Nigeria.
Project 774 LG Connectivity will create at least 300 direct jobs as we deploy nationwide and potentially more jobs indirectly from the increase in digital access. It is also aligned with our Ministry’s Strategic Blueprint and a significant step in achieving the mandate to deliver efficient public service to our citizens at the LG level.
Driving inclusive digital transformation
To ensure the successful execution of the Project 774 LG Connectivity Network it is essential to secure support from all stakeholders, including government, private sector, and the respective local communities. By providing reliable internet connectivity to our 774 LGAs, we will bridge the digital divide, empower local communities and drive inclusive digital transformation.
Overall, Project 774 LG Connectivity Network will play a vital role in the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy’s plans to drive inclusive digital transformation by providing affordable and reliable internet access in these locations.
