Applications Now Open for The 25th International AIDS Conference Scholarship

Mark your calendars for the upcoming AIDS 2024, the 25th International AIDS Conference, set to take place in Munich, Germany, from 22 to 26 July 2024. The AIDS 2024 Scholarship Programme is now accepting applications for individuals around the world who are looking for financial support to attend the event, either in person or virtually. Through the program, select applicants will receive financial assistance for their attendance at AIDS 2024, including the pre-conference events taking place on 21 and 22 July.

This scholarship opportunity is designed for individuals who may not have the financial means to attend otherwise. Priority consideration will be given to those who are making significant contributions to the conference programme and are able to demonstrate the transfer of gained knowledge and skills to their work within their communities and organizations.

If you are working, volunteering, or studying in the HIV field and are at least 18 years old on 20 July 2024, you are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. Applications are open for both in-person and virtual attendance, along with support for access to the AIDS 2024 pre-conference events.

Eligibility

The AIDS 2024 Scholarship Programme is open to individuals working, volunteering, or studying in the HIV sector and who are at least 18 years old on 20 July 2024. Special consideration will be given to:

  • Abstract presenters, workshop facilitators and co-facilitators, and Global Village organizers and co-organizers whose submission has been selected for the conference
  • Applicants from low-income and middle-income countries
  • Applicants who are part of key populations and people living with HIV
  • Young people and junior investigators below the age of 35
  • Applicants who did not previously receive a scholarship for an International AIDS Conference

Types of Financial Support

IAS – the International AIDS Society – will provide financial aid for both in-person and virtual attendance at AIDS 2024.

 

How to Apply

To participate, eligible candidates will need to complete a questionnaire pertaining to their background, experience, and reasons for wanting to attend the conference. A letter of recommendation must also be submitted, meeting specific criteria such as being written in English and including the referrer’s signature and letterhead. The submission deadline for these applications is 23 January 2024.
