Vitafoam Products Canada Location Opportunity

Vitafoam Products Canada location is looking for a Chemical Handler/Receiver in North York, ON. This is a very physical job controlling, monitoring, and maintaining various chemical processes as it relates to specific operating equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and established company safety rules
  • Offload chemicals from Rail Cars and Tanker Trucks daily
  • Control and monitor chemicals in storage tanks
  • Control and monitor chemical handling equipment (pumps, compressors)
  • Operate material handling equipment including a Lift Truck
  • Record and follow process instructions
  • Clean plant and equipment, including all tanks and mixers as needed to maintain a good housekeeping philosophy
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and managers

Requirements

  • College level education in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Must have the ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. (22.68 kgs)
  • Knowledge and experience with a process control system in controlling reactions and processes an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge and use of hand tools
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Flexibility required to work overtime at times for our 24/7 manufacturing operation
