Police Service Commission Receives Over 547,000 Applications for Police Force Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that they have received a total of 547,774 applications for recruitment into the constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The recruitment portal, which opened on October 15, 2023, will be closing on November 26, 2023, after a six-week period.

Out of the 547,774 applicants, 358,900 have been successful and have qualified for the next stage of the recruitment process. This next stage involves physical examinations, verification of credentials, medical assessments, and thorough background checks of the applicants.

According to a statement from the spokesperson of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, a total of 84,606 applicants were rejected for being too old. The age requirement for applicants is between 18 and 25 years old.

Regional Breakdown of Applications

Kaduna State remains in the top position with the highest number of applicants, with 40,272. On the other hand, Anambra is still in last place with only 1,664 applicants.

Adamawa State is in second place with 36,398 applications, followed by Borno State in third place with 32,048.

Benue State is in fourth place with 31,122 applications, while Katsina State is in fifth place with 30,202. Bauchi State is in sixth place with 30,604, and Kano is in seventh place with 30,004.

Ebonyi State has the second lowest number of applications, with only 2,132, just above Anambra. Lagos State follows closely with 2,324 applicants. Bayelsa State is fourth from the bottom with 2,651, and Abia is fifth from the bottom with 2,796 applicants.
