Location: Port Hardy, BC

Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight

Wage: $22.60/Hour

Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Under the supervision of the Manager or designate, performs a variety of heavy cleaning duties, such as wet mopping, waxing and polishing floors, washing walls, windows and ceilings. Collects and disposes of waste materials, collects soiled laundry. Performs laundry duties, using a non-domestic washer and dryer, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training And Experience: Grade 10 plus one year recent related experience in a commercial or industrial laundry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills And Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to organize work.
