How to Claim Unpaid Approved SASSA Covid-19 SRD Grant

In the latest update from SASSA, they have provided guidance for Covid-19 SRD Grant applicants whose applications were approved for more than one month but have not received any payment dates yet.

If you fall into this category, it is recommended that you visit the SRD website https://srd.sassa.gov.za and update your bank details. This may help expedite the payment process.

Please be aware that due to high application volumes and duplicate applications, there may be delays in processing. It is important to be patient when using the system.

If your application was declined, you have the option to lodge an appeal for reconsideration on the DSD Independent Tribunal website at https://srd.dsd.gov.za.

For any queries regarding appeals, you can contact the Department of Social Development Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA) at Tel: 012 312 7727 or Email: [email protected]

If your application qualifies for a specific month, you will receive payment for that month as well as the current month if you still meet the application criteria. Please note that the payment may not be received as a lump sum or on the same day. It may be split over several days or weeks.

Additionally, if your application has been approved for May and June but you haven’t received payment due to a closed bank account, you need to update your banking details to an active account in your name, as advised by SASSA.
